Message from Holly Mann to the Scammers

[Dedicated to people who have been scammed online by internet marketers. Those who have been enticed into paying tens of thousands of dollars for "coaching" and anyone else who is sick of the lying internet marketers. Dedicated to the HONEST ones who strive to help each other succeed. We will be the ones standing in the end!]

————————————-

As the people yearned for answers, that they sought for eagerly, wealthy men of false esteem offered up a delusive dream.

It sounded nice, I felt enticed, unsure if I should trust.

These words he spoke were full of hope. With nothing but a heart of gold, an empty wallet and a hand to hold. I believed I would have counsel and would not be led astray.

With such dismay, I was sad to know that we were all betrayed. The ending was the same old thing, false promises and my broken dream.

Lost faith again, but won’t condemn. With rent and little mouths to feed, no food in sight, no true leaders to lead. All I did was feed their greed. I moved above in thought and theory. I left those crooks behind, unwearied.

Before I knew about the truth, I believed in him through and through. His presence was portrayed so brilliantly. Wise man of wealth for all to see. His pose was tall but his words were small. Fooling the masses, tricking them all.

Everyone from far and near paid to watch, learn and hear. Words spoken of life and luxuries and all the possibilities. His story of his broken past, cut through my heart like shattered glass. I thought that he was down to earth, didn’t know of his low self-worth.

I didn’t see that it was all a game, just for money, and just for fame. He spoke of his great knowledge and of all his expertise; saying you could do it too – just buy his book and coaching too!

Ten thousand dollars in the hole and now I see it was all for show. How does he see the faces of the eager honest souls? Can he look them in the eyes or does he fear that it will show. Terrified you will see falsehood and defy. Holding strong to his disguise, digging deeper in the lies.

As the people yearned for answers, that they sought for eagerly, wealthy men of false esteem offered up a delusive dream.

These men spoke of great prosperity, and internet success. Their eyes were wide, as they tried to hide the dark secrets that they kept. Little did the people know, these moral men were not so. They pranced around from state to state. They’d reel you in, at any rate, it didn’t mean a thing. To them you were just pocket change, to toss away when you’re out of range.

When no one else was looking, I saw them for who they were. Exposed in sin and reeling you in. Flocking like little lamb, credit card in hand, not knowing that it was all a scam.

To his demise, I cleared my eyes and saw who he really was. He tried to pull me down with him in his spiral of deceit. He saw the freedom in my eyes, of love and life with no disguise.

He was exposed and as I rose he shrunk down like a coward. No words to speak, he must retreat.

So now I say, “Continue on your lonely path and leave the people out of your wrath.” Don’t use your power to pull others down, they’re not like you, their hearts are sound.

Goodbye to him I say today. We’re free from you. With all the Glory on our sides, we’ll walk in our honesty, no need to hide.

As the people yearned for answers, that they sought for eagerly, their deserving hearts were finally set free. An honest way was paved, and the innocent were saved.\

No more scams, no more lies. No more marketing disguise. No more “dear friend” sales pitches and promises of insane riches. False promises to feed your greed. It’s over now. Together we succeed.

Holly Its great to see a new post from you!
I totally agree with you message, there are a lot of people in the business promising the moon and after you give them some money you can never get them on the phone or email to help you!

Thats why there are people like yourself
to keep things in perspective and keep the business honest!

Your filling a great void in the business and the people will follow you!!

    Holly,

Interesting post – makes me wonder if you got burned pretty bad by someone. The lure of money online does blind people and I’m sure that some who see the profits before those who buy get caught up in the ‘get rich’ madness.

Nice to know there are people like you out there helping the world directly and laying a path for others.

Keep up the the great work! Hopefully, one of these days or years we’ll get to meet at a marketing conference somewhere.

    Sincerely,

    Don James, The Agile Marketer

Wow….I used to get quite worked up about these guys – having been bitten myself a few times by these MLM/Gurus etc, but the fact is that I also believe in that what goes around comes around, and when i examined these peoples lives there wasnt a lot of joy, love, laughter, sharing, or indeed peaceful reflection going on. Holly you seem to be on the right track with the right intentions. I wish you all the best and thank you for giving me hope to finally succeed. Best wishes – Glen :)

Thanks Holly, I love it! It’s sooooo true and embodies not just a single person, but a mindset that is so prevalent amongst many internet marketers.

It’s sooooo sad, what can a few do to combat it? Because humans will always want to get ahead, and these marketers will always play on their emotions.

It’s really a science they way they write sales letters and promotions. You can learn it to for a price! lol

I just want to relate to people and tell them things that help me, that’s it. Yes I want to be successful and make a living online, but I won’t lose my integrity in the process.

Thanks for the comments. I haven’t replied to the comments in many months – and just read what you wrote JK. You are so right when you say there’s a science to the sales letters and promotions. I noticed a lot of psychological games being used as well. And Virtualplanet is right that what goes around comes around.

    Nice poem Holly.
I guess we will have to put up with this type of scammer and all we can do is just try and warn people.
This site has a great bunch of people and the Forum has now built to a great mix of experienced people who can help the newbies. Already the questions from the newbies are being answered by a number of good experienced people and perhaps this will help them getting scammed.
    Keep up the good work.
    Cheers
    Tom

Help them not getting scammed is what the Honest Marketing Movement is all about. And who a better spokesperson than Holly.Unfortunately, con men and heartless marketers have been and will probably be around for a long time thousands of years past, present and future.
I have attended such seminars, some promotional from the onset and some that were inspirational in context but rhetorical.I’ve been coned by some of the best but always with reservations on my part so my losses were minimal.Trusting people has become more and more difficult, but I still remain an optimist overall when encountering honest marketers like Holly and Davin,Michel Garrett, and Jeremy Gislason , to mention a few.I know who the top 24 internet marketers are and I have to say that a few of them had better improve their honesty in marketing to retain customer loyalty.Word gets around the internet at lightening speed and after weeding out false slander due to jealousy truth will prevail.
There is an enormous market on the internet and selling junk with key information missing seems all too prevalent, all in the name of profit.
As another respected marketer,Scott Edward, has stated :paraphrased quote: How can you honestly promote 95% of available internet materials unless you fully believe in them by having either made it yourself with complete honest intentions of providing quality or owning it via purchase and complete satisfaction.
This brings us to the only exception.Market a product as an affiliate of someone you have complete trust in ,or produce your own high quality product.
My web motto is “Grab on and either Learn or Teach”
This applies to web sites, blogs, forums other media and life in general. One is not teaching unless there is honesty.Everything else is deception and corruption.

Thank you 5Sisters for such great advice. I agree with this: “Market a product as an affiliate of someone you have complete trust in ,or produce your own high quality product.” and it can be difficult to find these quality products and marketers – but they do exist. :) I agree that it is so hard to trust people (online and offline) with all the scams.

I think you’re an inspiration to me.

My wife is Thai, and we live in London, UK. I fell in love with Thailand and we are doing all we can to be able to move there in August, 2010.

I have to start making money online soon, because I could probably not get a job there.

I spent a lot of money in all sorts of “gurus” with miracle “make $500 a day starting today” swindles. I was starting to be really frustrated and even depressed … then I found your blog.

God bless you, Holly. I will buy your e-book as soon as I can.

Meanwhile, wish you much happiness with your son and far more prosperity.

    Steve

I’m sure it will help you immensely that your wife is Thai. Please keep me posted on when you move! Keep in touch – and take care.
