Motorcycle Accident & Illegal Ownership of a Car

Today was a very interesting day! I took Josh for a coffee and a muffin (coffee for me, muffin for the little man) and afterwards dropped him off at school. Then met with my realtor and her husband for some early lunch - they actually offered me quite a lot of SEO work if I am interested in taking it on. They own a very large software company in Germany and have a large client base that needs SEO done on their sites. So after that I met with some other friends at Immigration in Chiang Mai. I bought a second-hand BMW last week and in order to get it in my name, I need to get a certificate of residency for thailand. In order to get that, I need a ton of documents as well as a longterm visa. My visa is expiring in a couple of months and I'm in the process of getting Josh approved for an education visa (yes, as a 3-yr-old he can do that)! And I actually will get a dependency visa - which is hilarious - I'll be allowed to live here no problems longterm as my son's dependent! In order to get that approved, I need to transfer 500,000 thai baht into my thai account here, need to have a lot of paperwork filled out and then have it all signed, stamped and approved by the governer of Chiang Mai. This is a very tough task to accomplish - the thing about the Governer approving it all. I saw the stack of papers my son's principal was so kind to prepare and that is nearly done. BUT, until it is completed, I cannot get a certificate of residency, meaning I am driving around a car that is actually still in the car dealer's name - if he wanted to - he could call the cops and say I stole it! So drama drama drama. I don't know if anything I just wrote there makes sense - it's just my ramblings.

Ok so after all that, returned home (had no time to do any work) and answered a few emails and took off on my 30 minute drive to pickup Josh. On my way there I noticed that there were two foreigners and a thai woman who looked like they had just gotten in a crash at the intersection. No one was badly hurt, but the woman hurt her leg and cut her hand open a bit. I saw them as I was passing and couldn't stop because of cars behind me. In thailand I noticed that no one stops to help - they just stare. So I did a U-Turn and another U-Turn and pulled over and offered them a ride. The woman turned around to look at me when I walked up to them and turns out it was actually a man (living as a woman) :) with long hair - most people wouldn't know the difference but I've lived in Thailand long enough to know. :) lol…so I took her - her name was Noi to her apartment and it was on my way to get Josh. She asked me for my phone number and told me about her boyfriend - as she referred to him as her "darling." They were going on a motorcycle ride into the mountains to see the flowers - all the mountains are blooming and gorgeous this time of year. Then they were making a turn at the lights and some people cut them off and hit them as well, then zoomed off into the distance. How nice, right. I think i will make myself a nice car first aid kit because I've seen quite a few accidents already. :) What a day!

Hi Holly, just got up over in my neck of the woods. For some reason I was having a problem logging in to leave a comment before this, so I had to re-register.

My day, yesterday, was certainly not as interesting as your day was. I haven’t run into any girls(boys) such as this lately. I think that is just as well.

We use to have, one, yes only one, person that used to live this way in my small town here, and well, he(she) wasn’t so readily accepted by our small minded, gossip thriving town folk.

I hope all works out well for you with the paperwork and everything involved with getting things straightened out over there for you.

Take care Holly and I will chat with you soon.

    Luv your new blog!

Well, back to work for me. I have so many things I have to get done!

    Hi Holly

First make sure you get the ownership first of the car.Because I/we do not want you into any kind of trouble ever.

Second get as soon as possible the residency licence of Thailand.I would have been more happy if you choose India as your Living destination. It has also very natural beauti itself and the great TAJMAHAL , named No.1 in the 7 world wonder list.

If that accident happened in India then you can always see the people will try as much to save the victim’s life first by forgetting the police harrasment later.

By the way you have helped them to show that you are not only Mother Terresa of internet but offline too.

    Thank you

Thanks guys. I will try to get things resolved this week. I think I might need to ask my thai friend to put my car in his name for now. :) We’ll see.
