How to Set Twitter on Autopilot & Profit

Posted on 11. Jun, 2009 by Holly in Free Productivity Tools, Twitter

Twitter is a fascinating social media revolution. If you are an Internet Marketer, you absolutely must keep up with the marketing trends and tactics used to drive your business. If you haven’t signed up for twitter yet, read “What is Twitter & Why You Need It” – and then join and follow me @HollyMann. If you haven’t yet joined, don’t worry – as I was also reluctant to join at first. But if Twitter is the only social media site you join – you’re making a wise decision. It will only get bigger. It’s an opportunity for you to expand your business, your personal horizons – and make money.

Solution for Twitter Time-Wasters

For many Internet Marketers, Twitter has become a big part of the daily routine. That’s fine, except when you spend too much time checking your tweets, replies and writing new ones. Although Twitter is a great business tool, it can be very difficult for people to log-off and return to life on Earth in the “real world.” I know this is a fact as I’ve seen it- and I’ve experienced myself logging in and chatting on there when I should be working. Time is limited – we live in a fast-paced world and there has to be a solution for Twitter time-wasters.

Tweetlater-Only Twitter Tool you Need

Last week I had an interview with Jon Rognerud, from Entrepreneur.com; which will be published shortly (I’ll let the readers known when it is). Jon is the type of person who really enjoys finding the newest and most useful, time-saving gadgets, tools and software programs. He shared with me a tip that has significantly saved me time with Twitter – TweetLater.

Tweetlater is the best All-In-One Productivity Tool for serious Twitter users. There is nothing like it out there. There are so many little Twitter applications and programs – but this is the only one I need.

Features of Tweetlater

  • Schedule Your Tweets In Advance – as many as you like for the day, or following day, week or month
  • Send Welcome Messages (DMs) to new users who follow you – saving tons of time
  • Create drafts – save and reuse them
  • Automate the process of following those who follow you
  • Get your own Personal Status Feed
  • Manage unlimited Twitter accounts in one place easily
  • URLs are shortened and Tracking is attached so you know how many clicks you get & responsiveness
  • Track keywords on Twitter
  • Add your blog RSS feed – so any blog updates automatically notify Twitter with a Tweet

All of the features listed above are totally free. You can signup now and automate your Twitter experience.

Tweetlater’s Professional Account

For those of you who are really serious on Twitter, and want even more features, you can try the Tweetlater Professional Account free for 7 days (then if you like it, to upgrade from the free to Pro account is $29.97 per month after the trial expires).

My Method to Tweetlater

Personally, when I wake up in the morning, before digging into my e-mails or work – I do a little research. If you are a blogger (one who posts regularly) this may already be a part of your daily routine. I then find some of the most useful tools, articles, tips and resources – and create 3-6 tweets to schedule for my day. That way, I can set it on autopilot, providing people with really useful stuff while I am doing my real work. If readers enjoy some of the things I’ve posted, I gain followers, that becomes viral – and the following grows. I don’t need to be locked-into Twitter to make it all happen – as I can set it all up in the morning for that day.

How Do I Make Money from Twitter Anyway?

Sorry to leave you in suspense – but I am creating a follow-up post about How to Make Money from Twitter – so please Subscribe to my RSS feed here or in the box above to be notified when the post is published. It should be within the next few days or so. Thanks!

  1. Excellent post Holly!

Yes, TweetLater is an awesome tool. There is definitely a lot of them out there, but, TweetLater is definitely one of the best. I tried out a couple others that were similar to TweetLater, but, to be honest they just didn’t seem to work nearly as well.

It’s awesome seeing you use Twitter a lot. I think if people don’t get involved soon, they will be missing a lot of activity that can certainly help their business.

    Take care Holly

Holly, I’m not sure this is the best advice concerning twitter.

I personally do not believe in automating twitter. To me it kind of misses the boat about the purpose of social media. People enjoy twitter because it is a way to connect with others person to person.

I personally will not follow someone who is automating posts.

One of my goals this year was to just enjoy myself via social media outlets and connect with others. In the process the making part has taken care of itself.

      Hi Marlowe,
Thanks for the comment. I understand not everyone may want or need something like this. :) I just don’t have that much time to enjoy the social media outlets throughout the day – so this really helps me. I still share the same things I would if I were doing it throughout the day – and if I discover cool articles or tools, I just take note of it and share it later through Tweetlater – or if I have time to login I will do that too. It may not be for everyone – but it sure is helping me a lot right now. Thanks again for the comment.

    Hi Holly
Thanks again for a very interesting post.
I have to admit, I am not in to this “yet”, but you are starting to convince me. I will give it a try. I love the idea of Tweetlater which makes sense to someone who has very limited time.
My wife Cheryl uses Facebook a lot and it seems a great way to share photos etc with family all over the world. I am watching and learning and can see where this could lead. I have a Facebook account but seldom use it.
    Anyhow, see you on Twitter…
    Kind regards
    Tom.
PS. Asked a few times, How do I get my photo over to this page on the left. I have it on the other sites?

    Hi Holly
Just an update, now I am in trouble.
Just joined Twitter as “TheIrishTom” (as IrishTom was already taken) and found quite a few people I know already on board. I have signed up to follow you so this will be an experience to see how quick I can build a following.
Liked what I seen so far.
    Kind regards
    Tom
