Absolutely a great read and a greater message. Thank you Holly! Oh boy, the phrase "You only have one time to make a good first impression" just came to me because of this story. I've actually been mulling over the type of business card I would want. I hate to be "sold" to, and typically am the total "underseller" on anything. (That's why I enjoy IM as opposed to F2F that I tried with Mary Kay (in college) and later Quixtar (I couldn't even afford to by those products, let alone sell anyone else on them!) I'll let the business cards and online presence do the talkin' for me!

Annie T. Baxters last blog post..<a href="http://annies-im-diary.blogspot.com/2008/09/ebay-was-it-worth-wait.html" rel="nofollow">EBay: Was it worth the wait?</a>

Hey Holly, thanks for that small "bookstore" excerpt from Poverty101.net.
I couldn't stop laughing, being an ex-graphic designer and having a brother who is still in the industry and quite the liberal freelancer (Mr. I'll figure it out as i go along), I could envision him stumbling into a similar, if not the same situation. I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it.

It's all about word of mouth..so Thanks Joe for letting Holly know. I had a chance to read a few of his other posts..hard to not get drawn to some of his catchy headers..I like his writing style..natural, expressive, and grabs your attention..you feel like you're there!

(BTW, Holly, meant to comment on the blog makeover..nice job!

Hey Holly!! I am at a loss for words (hard to imagine). Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou for mentioning me!!! I am new to blogging and I started writing this as a means to stop feeling so down about my loooooong list of failures. I HONESTLY had no idea anyone would care. Meeting people like you makes me believe that God still has something in store for me.

Thank You

That was a funny post. So true though, regardless of the humour attached.

I had a similar situation happend to me about 15 years ago. I was in waiting in a drugstore lineup and I overheard some women talking to this girl about my age about some dance lessons she had been giving in town. This was a very small town so any type of extra cirricular activity offered was always of interest, instead of driving an hour or more to a big city. So I was a bit rude and interrupted their conversation and asked if there was still room to join. Turns out the girl had been in a show in town and just offered a one time class for fun for some of the townspeople...OH WELL! I said that was too bad and told her I would have loved to come. She smiled at me, I paid for my stuff and left.

Skip to 1 week later I had a dance audition for a movie and one of the girls who was running the audition looked familiar, but I couldn't place her....I don't need to add the filler do I? Needless to say my first day on set rehearsal she came up to me and said "Do you remember me from the drugstore?" It didn't click in until then, I'd actually forgotten about it. I asked her why she hired me and she said "Firstly, you were good in the audition and secondly because you were friendly and enthusiastic in the drugstore and seemed like you would be a great person to work with."

Well, we've been friends ever since and we have also maintained a business relationship since that day and I have done many great things thanks to our meeting.

You never know who you are going to meet - that is so true! And I'm starting to think that about who I meet online as well.

Fate is a funny thing....

I love Terrance's site! His writing style is so refreshing, I can read it all day long. In fact, when I found his site this past weekend, I read quite a bit...even told my wife about it!

I like his approach, he keeps me entertained..but also teaches some great lessons.
