Hi. My name is Anna. I am a poet, a photographer, and a budding Internet Marketer. Holly is a good friend of mine, though I have never met her in the physical universe. I think we can all agree by now that cyberspace is its own universe; in some ways almost too sacred to be fully mixed in with the “real world.”

How did I meet Holly? I bought her book and she bought mine. Her book is on Internet Marketing, and mine is a poetry book.

Poetry and Internet Marketing probably seem pretty disrelated. Well, until now, they probably were.

Holly gives me advice on my websites, and I taught her my finger-counting-for-rhythm poetry techniques. If you look at Holly’s MySpace Blog, you will see that she has started to become a very good poet. She has also written a very nice review of my poetry book here (blush). :).

Holly has become a very important friend to me, and she has helped me in many more ways than just Internet Marketing.

If you would like to read my my story of how I began working online before I even knew what a hyperlink was, you could look at this page of my blog. I won’t repeat it here as I want to avoid boring poor Google with duplicate content. But the above page tells how I happened upon Internet Marketing, about two years ago in a city library, while I was supposed to be doing something else.

I am no Internet Marketing Guru, and, probably like you, I have been gradually learning and practicing and progressing, gaining increased knowledge and abilities as I go along. With little victories and with a growing understanding of the Internet Marketing world, I have gradually reached the point where I sometimes feel like I know what I’m doing.

Every month, my online income increases. For me, this is the most important thing. And every month I feel more and more certain of my abilities and potentials online. Nothing screenshot-worthy, that’s for sure. But I am happy because I am learning so much, and becoming more confident of what I am doing and what I should do next. And as my income goes up, I am able to pay for more educational materials, services, software, and outsourcing costs - which, in turn, increases the amount of income I make.

There is my brief introduction. To be honest, Holly has been nudging me on and off for a while, to post on this blog. One reason I didn’t do it earlier was because I wanted to build up my own income-related blog more first. It is a baby-blog with big ambitions, but it has not yet gotten the attention it deserves because I have been trying to make more progress on other incomplete projects first.

I have many plans for that blog, but mainly I want it to become a point of reference that anyone can use, to find information, tools, advice, and unbiased simple product reviews. As it is, there is a lot of data that has yet to be added. So if you do visit, please subscribe to my RSS feed or email updates so that you can be informed when I add more resources! I will do my best to make the blog useful, and not a confusing waste of time. And an increase of visitors might encourage me to add more!

Okay. Now that you know who I am, I am sure that you all want to be my friend (that was a joke). No, my point is, if you would like to be my friend on Facebook or MySpace or radee radee radee … or if you would like to see my poetry or photos or blogs, I have made it easy for you to do so, without barraging Holly’s blog with 20 outgoing links.

I have made a Squidoo lens which is an all-in-one reference stop to … me. This is the Anna Vera Williams Squidoo Lens. Kind of an “Anna Williams Directory.” It’s a bit boring as a lens; you will see that if you go there. But it contains links to my books, my blogs, my photos, my poetry, and my profiles. And I will add more soon.

I like very much what Holly has here, and I really have had a lot of fun reading and commenting on this blog.

So I hope I will be back soon.

Yours,
Anna V. Williams

P.S. - If you are an affiliate marketer I should tell you that I have a new product for sale which looks like it is in a very profitable (and new, and controversial) niche. I told Holly about it and she said she thinks there is a lot of money to be made there. If you go to this affiliate page you will see what it is. I also suggest you look at the Google trends for this keyword, which are linked to from the affiliate page. (That graph was what convinced me.) I would be happy to have some new affiliates for this product and I am giving 60% commission! So there is my little sales pitch for today. You know how it is - there’s no such thing as a free post!

P.P.S. - One other thing. As Holly mentioned in an earlier post, I am very touchy about having my photograph online. You can find a very old photo of me at one of the links from my Squidoo lens. But otherwise if you want to see a picture of me, you are going to have to do some very good convincing! Bidding starts at $250 … (joke).

Hey Anna, Who gave you permission to post here? I’m very upset! :) (joke, not funny, but I tried). Seriously, thank you for introducing yourself here Anna. I have told you and a few others in the past that if interested, you could post here. I think you have some incredible life experiences to share with the world. Anytime you want to, post here. I would love it. I also wanted to announce that Anna and I have a joint Squidoo Lens here: http://www.squidoo.com/hollymannannawilliams (thanks to Miss Anna). If anyone here likes poetry, or has any interest at all, please checkout her other site here: http://poempoempoem.com/poemsandstories/ and this woman has inspired me so much. Rather than holding it all in (all those darn feelings) I have put the pen to the paper and have been writing poems. A LOT of poems lately. Anna’s work is amazing :)

Thanks Holly! You made me laugh, as usual! I’ve invaded your blog! I’m glad you like my crazy Squidoo idea. Well it kind of came from your idea … It’s a starter. I know we both have a lot to do but I’m sure that whenever we are bored of what we are supposed to be doing we can go add a little bit here and there to the lens and make it really funny and unique. I think emails have a great purpose, but sometimes I also think, look at all this original content going to waste!

    Hi Anna,
I was just doing my morning routine check up of Holly’s forum and noticed your post on here. It’s nice to learn a little bit more about you. I still can’t find that old picture of you in which you were talking about. So mysterious! Are you sure this isn’t some type of weird marketing ploy? Just kidding! Nice post Anna Take care…

  • annaverawilliams said:

Hi Davin, thanks for the comment. No it’s not about marketing. It’s an idiosyncracy of mine. Like Jason Bourne - I don’t like the idea of being too trackable! Like - people who want to know what I look like have to really work for it, and if they aren’t well-intentioned they will hopefully give up before they do. (Maybe I have heard too many scary MySpace stories… no … it’s just a thing I have. I also hate working in rooms with open doors. Weird, no?) The picture is in one of the pages which is linked from my Squidoo lens, as in the above post. It’s a very old picture taken when I was 18. Sorry for being so mysterious! I can’t help it. Maybe it’s a thing … we could label it … um “recognizeaphobia?”

  • Holly said:

That is really funny Anna - you have recognizeaphobia? Hmmm. I tried to find if there was a phobia for your hidden image identity thing and instead I found something else really funny and odd - Chopsticks — Consecotaleophobia
The abnormal fear of chopsticks. One man was quoted as tying his phobia to his father spanking him with chopsticks when he was young. And on that site is said some people have fears of: string, of love, of being tickled (ok i have that) and some other really odd things. But I did not see recognizeablephobia. I like that one though. :)

  • annaverawilliams said:

Well - I look at it like this. I think it’s kind of like potato chips and yogurt. I shall explain.

If you go to a supermarket in Europe you will possibly find three types of potato chips (plain, barbecue, sour cream and onion) and maybe even eight types of yogurt.

If you go to a grocery store in America you will likely find 20 types of potato chips and 80 types of yogurt (strawberry, vanilla, coffee, mocha, peaches and cream, white chocolate rasberry, key lime pie, banana nut, pina colada, coconut cream, lemon meringue, marshmallow …)

Okay, now guess which grocery store makes more money!

So now, I bet every time a new version of chips, yogurt, ramen, or icecream comes out, somebody makes more money. Because everyone wants to try the new things!

Well, that’s kind of the same outlook I have on the catelog of phobias. Actually I can tell you something. Once I saw a video that was taken secretly of a bunch of psychiatrists who were coming up with all these ideas for phobias and mental maladies.

They didn’t discover them by any science. They just would invent them and then everyone would vote on whether or not that malady should exist.

So what do you think? Should we all vote on my new phobia? :D

  • Holly said:

Hmm..very interesting Anna and not surprising at all. I think they probably do invent those phobias, as well as other diseases. Then the people who think they have them think there is something wrong, and that they need counseling and medication. I’m sure if could be very profitable. I used to wonder if in some of the foods that are sold and purchased are purposely full of dangerous substances or ingredients - things to make you need to buy more, or make you buy more medicine. Maybe you can invent a phobia for me too! :) The world is a strange place sometimes…

  • annaverawilliams said:

Yes, they make them up and make oodles of money on it. Just check the statistics some time. Unfortunately it gets worse because a lot of the drugs they give for these things are far worse than any street drugs and highly addictive, leading to suicides and murders. Ever wonder why there are so many high-school shoot-ups these days? Almost every one of those kids was on one of these drugs. There’s lots of money in it. But I don’t think it fits so much under the “Honest Riches” category …
I’m sure I could invent a phobia for you Holly, if you really need one. Just tell me what the symptoms are and I’ll invent the malady! Then I will tell you that the only way to cure it is to buy 500 poetry books from me.

    :)

Hey Guys! I have TWO quick messages here…one for Anna, and one for Holly!

For Anna: Anna, I visited your website at http://www.lulu.com/annawilliams and saw all the cool things you have available there. I basically want everything on that page! Do you have a bundled, “Whole Enchilada” type offer where I can grab everything with the click of one button??? Lemmee know…

For Holly: I finally took your advice and saw “August Rush” tonight. I felt like a dork that tears started streaming down my cheeks at the end (but at least no one saw me) :) You’re right…that was an awesome movie. I wish I could have seen more of how things ended up (like 6 months later) but still…it made my heart swell. Thanks for the recommendation. :) p.s. I read all of your posted poems tonight. They REALLY struck an emotional chord with me. Thanks for sharing. And keep them coming.

    Good night!

Tony - I’m working on this. You are right, it’s a great idea to have them all available in one shot. I am setting up a package which contains both E-Books plus all the photos, plus a bunch more photos which I had not added to Lulu yet. So it will have more than 70 photos. I’m just finishing sorting out the technicalities of setting up this package - almost there.

You remind me how I need to go through my hard drive and dig out the rest of my unpublished photos as well!

mechanic999: I have a lot more information on hypermiling at http://livingclean.com/hypermilng

But the techniques which save gas mainly encompass proper driving techniques, proper car maintenance, and even lifestyle changes.

There are also other funny but true tips I have encountered which I am posting at the above site as much as possible. For example, when to use your AC vrs when to drive with windows open, what to do before you start driving, whether to park in the sun or the shade, what time of day to fill up your tank, etc.

As much as possible I try to keep tabs of new tips and articles as I find them in my blog. A short summary of what is contained in the E-Book is at http://livingclean.com/hypermiling-e-book-download/

Please let me know if you have any more questions or input on this! It’s a new site and I want to make it the best it can be … there’s a lot more work I could do on it though.

  • annaverawilliams said:

Tony, if you are still out there … I have finally managed to put this into package form. I also went through and found more photos on my hard drive (okay not all of them, I have so much to sort through!) and I wound up adding a bunch. So now there are more than 200 photos in the package, as well as both my books in E-Book format.

    http://www.lulu.com/content/3230306

So basically, this package contains both of my books in E-Book format:

    Mongol Journal
Some of My Poetry but Not All of It

It also contains over 200 photographs including:

    Denmark
    Czech Republic
    Other parts of Europe
    Oregon
    Pakistan
    Flowers
    Animals
    Cliffs
    Mountains
    Castles
    Cityscapes
    Sea
    Winter and Snow
    Christmas
    Boats
    Beaches
    Architecture

These photos can be used online as long as credit is given and a link back included. (License data is included).

So there you go, the link is here:

    http://www.lulu.com/content/3230306

(By the way I saw that several people bought my books and photos after reading my post here. I think that is great. I hope you will stop by my lulu page to leave a comment, if you read my books!)

Hi Anna! Well, I didn’t know you were gonna be so FAST about making that bundle available, so I went back to your lulu page that same night to order your ebooks of The Mongol Journal and your Poetry (and the hardcopies as well!) PLUS a few of my favorite photos too! I’m sorry, looks like I was too impatient!! :) lol But I’ll go back and check out your bundle now. Thanks! Tony p.s. I will be happy to leave you a comment after I’ve read your books…I’ve just been super busy traveling lately and short on time. But I WILL get to them!

  • annaverawilliams said:

Thanks Tony, I am glad to know. I really should have packaged it before so I am glad you got the idea. I still have zillions of other photos floating around in various hard drives and I really should complete the compilation one day! But at least I got more together than before.
